Privacy Policy

Last updated: March 12, 2026

1. Introduction

Storytime ("we", "us", or "our") operates the Storytime platform, an AI-powered content creation tool that helps creators turn their expertise into engaging short-form video content. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and protect your personal information when you use our website and services.

2. Information We Collect

Account Information

When you create an account, we collect your name, email address, and profile picture. If you sign in using Google OAuth, we receive your Google account email address, display name, and profile photo from Google.

Onboarding Information

During onboarding, we collect information about your business, audience, and content goals through an AI-powered interview. This helps us personalize your experience and generate relevant content suggestions.

Content You Create

We store the content you create on our platform, including video recordings, scripts, stories, knowledge base entries, and other materials you upload or generate.

Usage Data

We collect analytics data about how you interact with our platform, including pages visited, features used, and session recordings.

3. Google User Data — Access, Use, and Protection

When you authenticate with Google, we access the following data from your Google account:

  • Email address — used to create and identify your Storytime account.
  • Display name — used to personalize your profile.
  • Profile photo — displayed as your avatar within the platform.

During sign-in, we do not request access to your Google Drive, Gmail, Calendar, or any other Google services beyond basic profile information. You may optionally choose to connect third-party services (such as Google Drive or Dropbox) through our knowledge base feature to import documents — this is entirely user-initiated and requires separate authorization. We do not sell, rent, or trade your Google user data to any third party. Google user data is used solely for authentication and account personalization within Storytime.

4. How We Use Your Information

  • To create and manage your account
  • To provide, maintain, and improve our services
  • To personalize your experience on the platform
  • To send transactional emails (e.g., invitations, account notifications)
  • To analyze usage patterns and improve our product
  • To respond to support requests

5. Data Storage and Security

Your data is stored securely with encryption at rest and in transit. We implement industry-standard security measures including secure authentication tokens and HTTPS encryption for all data transfers.

Access to user data is restricted to authorized personnel and is only used for the purposes described in this policy.

6. Data Sharing and Disclosure

We may share your information with the following categories of third parties:

  • Service providers — trusted third-party providers that help us operate the platform, including database hosting, email delivery, analytics, and video processing.
  • Legal requirements — if required by law, regulation, or legal process.

We do not sell your personal information or Google user data to third parties.

7. Data Retention and Deletion

We retain your personal data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide you with our services. You may request deletion of your account and associated data at any time by contacting us. Upon receiving a deletion request, we will remove your personal data within 30 days, except where retention is required by law.

When you disconnect your Google account or delete your Storytime account, we delete the Google user data associated with your account.

8. Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have the right to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you
  • Request correction of inaccurate data
  • Request deletion of your data
  • Object to or restrict processing of your data
  • Data portability

To exercise any of these rights, please contact us at the email address listed below.

9. Cookies and Tracking

We use essential cookies for authentication and session management. We also use analytics tools that may set cookies to track usage patterns. You can manage cookie preferences through your browser settings.

10. Children's Privacy

Our services are not directed to children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we become aware that we have collected personal data from a child under 13, we will take steps to delete that information.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by posting the updated policy on this page with a revised "Last updated" date.
